Hi Chrismh- I'm rctgamer3, you might or might not recognise my username, i'm one of the people who is part of Doremi, the fansubbing group. You seem to be active on a lot of wiki's, and there's quite some backlog of work to be done and stuff to be improved. As part of Doremi, I'm extremely knowledgable on the series and I have access to high-res raws and images of the series so I plan to replace the terrible-quality images on all episode pages with much better ones, as you can see from my recent contributions. The infoboxes need some love as well. I was wondering if I could become an admin on the Ojamajo wiki for above reasons.
Well... yes, I admit, I am really busy on other wikia. I just felt they needed my attention more, or at least as of late. This wiki was my very first and I still love the series, so I feel terrible I haven't been able to put in much time for it as I've been trying to...
Anyway, you do sound like you really want to help to improve things... so I think it would be okay to have another Admin around. Hopefully sooner or later I can get a free period from everything else and return. But I would like to ask that if you decide to make any big decisions that could affect the wiki, please contact me first.
So I remember you disagreed with the deletion of Pop's Birthday Video, claiming the video was from an official convention. Well I've done some research on this video and the convention it was shown at, and I can conclude that the video is indeed fanmade and was shown at a fan-hosted convention.
Now allow me to explain: This video was shown at a convention called 'おジャまじっく' (translates to 'Ojamagic') which was an event hosted by a Pixiv user on September 9th, 2012, where fans could come together and sell their doujinshis. Yes, it is possible for fans to rent a venue to host their events, although it can be expensive to do so.
All the sources I've found for said event have no mentioning of any official Toei staff being involved. I'm guessing that the English-speaking fandom saw the Pop fanart
appearing on Pixiv at the time and mistook this for an official event.
Here's the links relating to the event that I found:
You asked who added "cute and very pretty" to Doremi's page. Natedawg921 added it.
In addition, I would like to point out that this is not the first time they've done this: one Sept. 29th, 2015, they added "cute and beautiful" to Doremi's page; on April 9th of that same year, they added "cute and very beautiful"; their first edit back in 2013 had "cute and pretty" added to Doremi's appearance section.
As it stands, Natedawg is a repeat offender and has basically been edit warring to keep that tidbit intact whenever they find it removed, regardless of edit reason.
Basically, this is not the first time he's done it.
He added "cute and very beautiful" to Dorem's page on April 9th, 2015, and "cute and beautiful" on Sept. 29th of that same year. In fact, his first edit back in 2013 was to put "cute and pretty" in her appearance section.
All in all, he has repeatedly put that same thing over and over again despite prior removals and has edit warred to keep them there.
